Multi-Age Education

Wildflower School is a program choice within School District 8 (Kootenay Lake) featuring multi-age classrooms and theme-based learning. The goal of the Wildflower curriculum and environment is to encourage self-esteem, self-confidence and joy in learning. The multi-age setting provides opportunities for leadership, interdependence, mentorship, and personalized learning. The classroom communities are nourished through daily circle time, place-based learning opportunities, collaborative group learning, individual inquiry, and an emphasis on problem-solving and critical thinking.

Wildflower Creston, is located within the Kootenay River Secondary School campus and welcomes students from kindergarten through grade 7. Our sister school, Wildflower Nelson, is located in the historic Central School building at 811 Stanley Street in Nelson and welcomes students from kindergarten through grade 9.

Our Vision Statement

Wildflower School aims to celebrate the light in each child (physical, social, emotional, spiritual and intellectual).

Our Mission Statement

The Wildflower community strives to educate the whole child. We address social, emotional, spiritual, physical and intellectual growth. The multi-age learning environment is one of support, safety, trust, respect and compassion. The academic delivery is personalized and challenges students to achieve their personal best.
